The benefits of regular hair trimming are to remove split ends and hair damage keeping the hair healthier and the appearance of faster hair growth.

WHAT CAUSES SHEDDING?

Healthy shedding is 80-100 strands a day. Unhealthy shedding can be caused from Genetics, stress, lack of nutrients, iron deficiency, age, hormonal imbalance, hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, autoimmune diseases, dramatic weight loss, vitamin D deficiency, to name a few.

HOW'S YOUR STRESS LEVEL?

Stress can be triggered through traumatic events, extreme pressure, worrying, overwork, and uncertainty. Stress raises androgen (male hormones) level, causing hair loss and triggering dandruff. Stress can cause a form of hair loss called Telogen Effluvium. It is a diffused hair loss causing the hair follicle to go into the telogen phase prematurely. There is no solution to this hair loss, but it is temporary once the hair follicle shifts back into the manage phase. Suggestions to help cope with stress: re-balance your life, meditate, regular exercise, rested sleep, eat well, therapy, find a hobby, and yoga.

DIFFERENCES IN DRY SCALP & DANDRUFF:

Dry Scalp is overly dry skin on the scalp. If the scalp is dry, then more than likely other parts of the body are dry as well. Dry scalp occurs when lacking moisture. Causes are dry skin, lack of moisture, aging, allergies, sunburn, and cold air. Dandruff is cause by excess sebum production in the scalp causing the scalp to be oily, red, and scaly. The flakes are oily, large, and off white or yellow color. The medical term is seborrheic dermatitis. Scalp Detox Exfoliation is recommended.

IS WATER ESSENTIAL?

YES! Water is essential in helping vitamins and nutrients be absorbed and distributed throughout your body. Water stimulates nerve ending in your scalp making your roots active, increasing hair growth. It also helps with dry scalp, dandruff, and helps prevent shedding.

MOISTURE VS. PROTEIN VS. PH BALANCED:

Moisture is needed when hair feels dry, rough, or brittle. It can also look dull and tangle and prone to split ends. Curly and textured has need moisture more frequently.

​

Protein is needed when hair is mushy or cotton candy like. It stretches but does not return to its original shape and breaks easily. Recommended every 8 weeks for maintenance.

​

PH Balanced hair is well balanced hair between moisture and protein. It is smooth, stretches and returns to its original state. Has a natural sheen.
